I had to experience one of the bad sides of being banded which is what happens when u get an episode of the stomach flu, which I have had the last couple of days. See what normally happens if someone "throws up" during an episode where one eats too much it's not a real big deal. It's sort of like u cough up the food. There is no gastric juices involved or anything. The food comes up undigested covered up in mucus *sorry again for being graphic*. Anyways when one gets the stomach flu its a whole different story. You are getting sick from inside your stomach and your stomach wants to push this stuff up but it can't because your band is stopping it. So basically your violently puking and nothing much is coming up. On top of it all..your scared to death this is going to make your band slip. Luckily I've only had this like twice now since I've been banded, but it is something to think about if you are thinking of the band. I certainly didn't think about it. It's just really awful to go through. Luckily everything seems fine and I can swallow just fine. It sure can take a beating.

Just wanted to share...thanks
