Shaving....Shaving Armpits, that is....

I get ingrown hairs in my armpits. I asume this is from shaving improperly or just being too sensitive. The ingrown hairs become really uncomfortable, like a really huge pimple.

My question?

Is there a proper technique to shaving? i.e. should I shave with the grain or against it, etc, etc. Could trying Nair, Veet, etc help? Has anyone tried Nad's? Im tempted by Nad's, but its pricey.
