One of the main characters is played by Chrissy Metz, she was the fat lady in American Horror Story. The show's first episode goes quickly in the myths of being a fat person: 1) They eat too much; 2) They are sad because of their weight; 3) They are really a thin person hoping/waiting to be thin.

What total crap, when can there be a time when fat people can just be happy?

Each reality show needs to have it's own angle, otherwise why would people watch it. But sad.

I hate to admit this (and I'm not trying to be argumentative at all, i swear!) but i sadly relate to that character on so many levels. Also, You don't come to weigh 3 and 400+ lbs by not eating too much. I wouldn't say these are myths.

I watched the show, and see it quite differently. Chrissy's character is pretty awesome, in my opinion. While it may have started out a bit stereotypical, she has a love interest, and I am hopeful, this relationship will flourish.

Also, Chrissy has the most beautiful smile on earth, and a spirit to match, so I am happy for her.

I like her character and hope that they continue to develop more layers to her has the show goes on. I also enjoyed that they showed how people who seemingly have it all, also have their insecurities and problems. It is refreshing to see a show that shows diversity and real life issues rather than just fluff.
