I have talked about this before, and i am going to mention it again...are you aware that the overweight of around 300 pounds or more can't be an organ donor IF THEY DIE????? I asked some transplant specialist from Mid America Transplants when they were in our unit if this was true. They stated not only is it true but even skin donations etc are not accepted. When i asked why, because i am sure, rather than dying i am certain someone would take my fat heart, or fat liver, they said the organ has already been strained by the weight the large person carries so they would not use the organ, soooooo, what do you think of that???

I don't know if you all know this, but they will NOT transplant someone who is fat, they feel the stress put on a transplanted organ is bad enough without making it do the extra work of being in a fat persons body.

were you aware of this???
