Hi, I just registered after lurking for a while. I kind of want to thank whoever runs this place for doing so. It's sort of relieving to know that I'm not the only one who has a seemingly natural, and very sexual, desire to eat and put on weight so, ya know, thanks.

I'm backpacking around the world at the moment on my own which I figured was the perfect opportunity to start gaining because if I'm a bit fatter when I get back, no-one is going to grudge me having enjoyed myself on the trip of a lifetime. I started about two weeks ago, eating pretty much all I can each meal, fried breakfast everyday, quite a lot of fast food (by my standards) and it feels really liberating. I'm a fairly shy person and I thought it would probably make that worse but I can think of a few examples where I've actually felt more confident as a result. I've always been fairly slim at about 160lbs, but I can't really remember a time when I've not fantasised about getting a bit fatter and now it's actually beginning. I've definitely gained a few pounds, probably not much but it's a start that I'm liking a lot.

Anyway, I've got a few questions which are all probably quite crappy and vague, directed mostly at those who've been through this early stage.

First of all, does it ever get easier? By that I mean it's been a real effort filling myself up at each meal and trying to eat stuff inbetween (though I don't really snack that much) do you get used to being full eventually? Does the discomfort of it lessen? I never really understood why people need to rest after meals but I'm definitely feeling it now. It's not that I don't like being fully, most of me loves it, just my belly keeps complaining.

I'd also be interested in knowing at what kind of rate people found their appetites increasing so they could fit more in there? Whether it's something that happens fairly quickly or if it's a gradual experience?

Finally, for a guy like myself who's fairly slim what are realistic targets for the next few months? (Setting challenging but realistic targets is supposed to help psychologically when doing pretty much anything.)

Anyway Hi, and thanks.
