First I hope this the the right place to post this.

There is an up coming TV movie on Lifetime about a pretty and thin girl who wears a fat suit and lives her life as a fat girl. I have seen other shows that have done the same thing. I'm sure many of us have. The point they try to make is that fat is not accepted. I do think there is validity to this. However, I am writing because evertime they (the media) does this, they always show the girl looking frumpy. She has the wrong hair cut, the wrong clothes etc. Why do they do this? Anyone fat or skinny wearing the wrong clothes will be less accepted by society. Right? I would like to see one of these shows and have the girl looking pretty. You know the right clothes, make up and hair. Speaking for myself, I will say thumbs down to a fat girl looking frumpy as opposed to a fat girl who looks pretty. Don't get me wrong I dont think of myself as shallow. I'm not cruel or rude to a frumpy girl but I know I would be less likely to want to get to know her. I know there have been studies done that show taller prettier people get more in life. I think it's just how we function socialogicly. Much of this boils down to how well a person's self esteem is. I pose this thought here because, I would think most women on this board have a good self esteem, at least about their weight.

What are your thoughts or opinions?
